The top two best restaurants in the world include two Moscow establishments

In Singapore, the annual award ceremony for the World’s Best Restaurants, considered the Oscar of the world of gourmet dishes, took place.
Traditionally, the leading gastronomic institutions are defined by more than 800 chefs, restaurateurs and critics from different countries. The best in the world in 2019 was unexpectedly named the Mediterranean restaurant Mirazur in the French city of Menton, which is near the Italian border. This year was the most successful for the institution. Prior to this, the best result was getting a third Michelin star. Mirazur is run by Argentinean chef Mauro Colagreco. The restaurant is located in a villa of the 1930s and is famous for its incredible sea views. It also boasts gardens and a private garden, which add a special twist to culinary works. Experts recommend to try here risotto with quinoa, wild mushrooms and Parmesan cream, as well as fish with celery puree and finished sauce. Continue reading

The authoritative British magazine Restaurant presented a rating of the best restaurants in the world in 2016, based on a survey of chefs, restaurateurs, gourmets and restaurant critics.

The winner was the restaurant Osteria Francescana in the Italian city of Modena. Last year, the owner of this title El Celler de Can Roca dropped to second place, and the French restaurant Mirazur also entered the top 10. Continue reading

Russia in the top 20: the best restaurants in the world named

This year, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, the world’s leading restaurant ranking, expanded its list – instead of the traditional one hundred food outlets around the world, it chose 120. The results were announced at a ceremony in Singapore.

For Russian gastronomy this year is more than successful. The Moscow restaurant White Rabbit climbed 13th in the ranking (last year it was on the 15th line). This is the best result for Russian restaurants in the history of the award. The most striking breakthrough was made by the Twins Garden metropolitan brothers Ivan and Sergey Berezutsky – today they became 19th, a year ago they were placed in 72nd place. For the first time in history, St. Petersburg’s restaurants were rated: Harvest Dmitry Blinov and Renat Malikov, which took less than a year ago, 92nd place and Cococo Matilda Shnurova 104 and chief Igor Grishechkin, which took less than a year ago to rank 92.
